About the position

The Photogrammetrist/Cartographer 1 position involves performing remote sensing work to prepare contour maps, terrain models, and related mapping materials using photogrammetric and cartographic techniques. This role is designed for individuals in a trainee capacity, allowing them to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in the field. The position requires proficiency in remote sensing, surveying, and GIS, with a focus on creating precise 3D models and utilizing specialized software for various mapping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote sensing work to prepare contour maps and terrain models.
• Create digital animated fly-throughs and related mapping materials.
• Acquire knowledge and skills in photogrammetric and cartographic techniques.
• Develop precise 3D models from sources such as LiDAR, photogrammetry, and aerial imagery.
• Use specialized software including Photogrammetry software, CAD, GIS, and Graphic Arts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in photogrammetry, cartography, physical science, geography, civil engineering, or related field; OR an Associate's degree with one year of relevant experience; OR high school graduation with two years of relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Obtain and maintain a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license required at the time of appointment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with creating Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) or Digital Surface Models (DSMs).
• Experience creating orthophotos.
• Experience piloting and mapping using UAVs or Drones.
• Experience with large-format aerial survey systems.
