About the position

As a Photographer/Editor at WKYC-TV in Cleveland, you will play a crucial role in producing original content that is broadcasted across multiple platforms, including television, internet, and mobile. This position demands a strong understanding of how news video is consumed on these three screens, and you will be expected to record and edit high-quality content that is ready for air and digital use in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, responding quickly to breaking news and managing content produced by both themselves and other team members. Responsibilities

  • Producing original content for WKYC and sharing it with TEGNA television stations.
  • Responding quickly to breaking news and managing content produced by yourself and others.
  • Maintaining ethical journalism standards while creating and editing content.
  • Collaborating with other news staff members to ensure timely delivery of news.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years' experience as a news photographer.
  • Ability to create/edit material for on-air and web while meeting deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Strong personal integrity, teamwork, accountability, problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of Sony cameras and wireless microphones, TVU or Dejero live units.
  • Solid control of lighting for different interviews and good composition skills.
  • Working knowledge or operation of a live truck is a plus.
