About the position
MarathonFoto is a leading sports photography company that specializes in capturing athletes in action at various events, including major marathons across the globe. As the official photographer for the Amica Newport Marathon on October 13th, we are seeking freelance photographers to join our team. This role involves taking dynamic portrait photos of runners with their medals or capturing action shots of runners on the course. Photographers will be assigned specific locations on the course to ensure coverage of the event. This is a freelance, event-based position, and there may be opportunities to work at multiple events depending on the schedule in your area. Photographers will not be responsible for selling or post-production editing of the photos. MarathonFoto will provide necessary media such as SD/CF/XQD cards and will collect them at the end of the event to streamline the process of transferring images. Clear guidelines will be provided regarding the types of photos to be taken, and a team leader will be available to assist throughout the race. The pay for this position starts at $30 per hour, with the potential for increases based on the quality of the photographs and the number of runners captured. The estimated working hours for this event are from 7 AM to 1 PM.
Responsibilities
- Take portrait photos of runners with their medals in a dynamic and engaging manner.
- Capture action photos of runners on the course at assigned locations.
- Adhere to the event schedule and arrive on time.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and adapt to changing circumstances during the event.
- Collect and submit photography media at the end of the event.
Requirements
- Must have photography equipment and excellent knowledge of how to use it.
- Ability to stand, move quickly, and hold the camera for the duration of the event.
- Flexibility to adapt to the pace and circumstances of the event.
- Reliable transportation to arrive on time and stay for the entire event.
- Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the USA.
Nice-to-haves
