The St. Louis Post-Dispatch/stltoday.com is seeking a temporary photographer/videographer. The ideal candidate will be efficient in shooting stills for daily assignments and must be comfortable producing and editing short video for our stltoday.com website in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Being a self-starter when it comes to generating photo/video ideas and content is a must. This position could range from 3 to 12 months. The ideal candidate must possess the following: Four-year college degree and/or at least 2 years of video/photo-journalism experience for a daily newspaper or other journalism based company. Portfolio demonstrating a range of video and still work is essential. The candidate should have great photo/video storytelling, editing and writing skills, along with the highest journalism ethics. Excellent communication, both written and verbal, is required, as well as strong news judgment. Proficiency in managing social media to promote work is also necessary. The candidate must be able to carry and manage necessary gear to produce daily work in various terrains and be willing to work all shifts. Some assignments require walking and carrying camera and video gear while working in extreme weather conditions to meet daily and breaking news deadlines.
