About the position

The Photographer/Videographer at Oregon Institute of Technology is responsible for capturing and showcasing the vibrant university life through photography and videography. This role is integral to the marketing team, focusing on documenting events, academic programs, and campus activities while ensuring all content aligns with the university's branding and messaging guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Document University life, including events, classes, campus activities, and other aspects of the University through photography and videography.
  • Manage the entire content creation process—from planning and shooting to editing, post-production, and archiving.
  • Edit photos and videos for use across various platforms.
  • Maintain an organized archive of University photos and videos.
  • Operate and maintain photography and video equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio gear.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, marketing staff, and other departments to provide photo and video content for various needs.
  • Create engaging video content for University events, promotional campaigns, and digital platforms.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, faculty, students, alumni, and community members.
  • Ensure all visual content aligns with Oregon Tech's brand and messaging guidelines.
  • Stay updated on the latest videography trends and apply innovative techniques to projects.

Requirements

  • Three years of television production videography experience.
  • Proven experience in photography, including post-processing and videography, including filming and editing.
  • Strong proficiency in photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, composition, lighting, and audio recording techniques.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to attend night and weekend events as needed, as well as travel to offsite locations.
  • A bachelor's degree is required, but four years of relevant experience can be substituted.
  • A portfolio showcasing your work is required for consideration.
