About the position

The Photography and Video Content Creator is a vital role within the University Relations Creative Services (URCS) team at Cornell University. This position focuses on producing high-quality photography and video content that aligns with the university's brand strategy and supports communication goals across various departments. The role requires collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and administrators to create engaging multimedia content, while also managing multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in visual storytelling and possess strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conceiving and producing high-quality photography and video content that aligns with the university's brand strategy.
  • Utilizing creativity and visual storytelling skills to produce engaging content.
  • Collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and administrators to create informative multimedia content.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, production, editing, and post-production.
  • Identifying project editorial messages and creating project proposals in collaboration with leadership.
  • Demonstrating expertise in photography, videography, lighting, audio, and editing.
  • Developing efficient processes to maximize production efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in photography, videography, arts, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in multimedia production or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Creative portfolio showcasing high-quality photography and videography work.
  • Proficiency in Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven project management abilities, highly organized, and able to work independently.
