About the position
Delta College is seeking a collaborative, energetic, and innovative adjunct instructor for the Arts and Letters Division, specifically for the Photojournalism course. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience, skills, and a commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity, and inclusion. This part-time faculty position is for Winter 2025, with class times scheduled for Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 2:55 p.m. Instructors will be responsible for establishing and promoting an effective learning environment to maximize student learning, and may be assigned to teach in traditional classroom settings as well as blended/hybrid formats. Classes may take place at various locations including the main campus, downtown centers, and dual enrollment partners.
Responsibilities
- Provide a working knowledge of the aesthetics and ethics of photojournalism.
- Introduce the creation of compelling and communicative images for news, sports, features, and portraits.
- Teach how to tell a story using multiple images.
- Employ digital photographic tools to produce and edit photographs and videos intended for print and online news publications.
- Understand and promote Delta College's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Requirements
- Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree with relevant professional experience.
