About the position

The Photojournalist/Multi-Skilled Journalist at WTOL-TV is responsible for capturing and editing compelling news stories in a fast-paced environment. This entry-level position requires creativity in storytelling and proficiency in video and audio production, with opportunities for expanded duties such as writing and voicing stories.

Responsibilities

• Capture video and audio elements for news, sports, and feature stories.
• Edit stories using the Edius non-linear editing system.
• Provide editorial input and collaborate on stories and newscasts.
• Operate live remote equipment, including microwave and bonded cellular.
• Familiarity with distribution platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
• Open to expanded duties such as writing and voicing stories.

Requirements

• College degree preferred, but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in editing with Edius non-linear editing systems.
• Complete newsgathering skills including videography, editing, and writing.
• Ability to creatively tell news stories with strong audio and visual skills.
• Ability to make quick decisions under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 40 lbs, occasionally up to 80 lbs.
