About the position

As a Photojournalist at Spectrum News, you'll work with a team of talented journalists to shoot and edit material for newscasts. You'll elevate stories by incorporating footage with fresh angles, lighting, and points of view. You'll be part of a collaborative team that creates compelling, timely, and accurate content to connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms. Each day is fast-paced in a constantly evolving work environment with new stories to tell and perspectives to uncover.

Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit television news footage.
• Incorporate fresh angles, lighting, and points of view into stories.
• Work collaboratively with a team of journalists.
• Connect with the community to capture footage at local events.
• Tell stories across multiple platforms including TV and digital.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in shooting and editing television news footage.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience.
• Technical skills in operating ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles and bonded cellular streaming.
• Ability to communicate solutions clearly and relate to diverse populations.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to solve problems.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to distinguish colors and discern sounds.
• Open to travel to discover important stories.
• Flexible schedule to work different shifts and cover stand-by responsibilities.
• Valid driver's license for authorized driving.
