About the position

The PHP Application Support Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining web applications using PHP and related technologies. This role requires extensive experience in PHP development, particularly with frameworks like Kohana, and involves working with RESTful APIs to integrate external services. The developer will also focus on front-end technologies, database optimization, and container management using tools like Docker and Kubernetes, while ensuring security best practices are followed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and Kohana framework.
• Integrate RESTful APIs for communication with external services.
• Optimize database queries and performance.
• Implement security best practices and compliance standards.
• Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards.
• Work with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Manage Docker/Container Clusters and Kubernetes environments.
• Utilize DevOps practices for deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with team members using Agile methodologies.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in PHP development.
• Strong experience with Kohana framework and RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery.
• Experience with AJAX, JSON, and cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Strong knowledge of database systems and query optimization.
• Advanced PHP performance-tuning techniques.
• Familiarity with Git workflows.
• 3-5+ years of experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Expertise in Linux environments.
• Experience with cloud-based services and serverless architecture.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
