The PHP Developer role is a full-time position based in San Diego, CA, focused on leading the design, development, and maintenance of web applications. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of web applications.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership to the development team, including code reviews and architecture guidance.
  • Mentor and guide team members to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software.
  • Implement and enforce best practices for security, performance, and code quality.
  • Proactively own, assign, and delegate critical and time-sensitive delivery of issue resolution and project tasks throughout the agile delivery life cycle.
  • Monitor and optimize application performance, ensuring they run efficiently and reliably.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and performance checks to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the development process.
  • Manage the application lifecycle, ensuring timely updates, releases, and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on PHP development experience.
  • Proven success in leading development projects.
  • Expertise in PHP frameworks like CodeIgniter, Laravel, Symfony, or Zend.
  • Over 5 years working with MS SQL or similar enterprise databases.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services with practical implementation skills.
  • Deep experience with CodeIgniter and its ecosystem.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as jQuery and AngularJS.
  • Experienced with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and proactive in addressing technical challenges.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of C# and a willingness to troubleshoot legacy components.
  • Ability to propose workarounds using PHP or other web technologies where code is not available.
