About the position

The PHP Developer role is a critical position within our team, focusing on both server-side logic and the development of front-end elements. The successful candidate will be responsible for the definition and maintenance of centralized databases, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. This role requires a strong understanding of both back-end and front-end technologies, as the developer will work closely with digital designers to implement user-facing features. The position is based in Austin, TX, and requires the developer to be onsite five days a week for a duration of 12 months or more. In this role, the PHP Developer will actively participate in website development projects, assisting in their ongoing maintenance and improvement. Collaboration is key, as the developer will work closely with team members to assess project requirements, contribute to accurate work estimations, and meet deadlines. The developer will also adhere to coding and documentation standards, ensuring that all work is of high quality and maintainable. The PHP Developer will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects across various platforms and industries, fostering teamwork within a diverse environment. Responsibilities

• Responsible for server-side logic and maintenance of centralized databases.
• Ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
• Develop front-end elements designed by the digital designers.
• Participate actively in website development projects and assist in ongoing maintenance.
• Work closely with team members to assess project requirements and contribute to accurate work estimations.
• Adhere to coding and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with Interface Developers to integrate front and back end of projects.
• Work with the Lead Developer and/or Dev Manager to determine optimal technical approaches for projects.
• Foster teamwork within a diverse environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and open communication.
• Contribute to a wide range of projects across various platforms and industries.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Laravel and PHP web frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Vue.js.
• Understanding of the fully synchronous behavior of PHP.
• Understanding of MVC design patterns.
• Strong understanding and experience of front-end technologies.
• Knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming.
• Understanding of accessibility and security compliance.
• Strong knowledge of common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions.
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications.
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system.
• Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds.
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, primarily Git.
• Familiarity with asset build tools.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Vue.js and Bootstrap.
