About the position

The PHP Web Developer position at Round Sky, Inc. involves working with a team to develop and maintain web applications in a high-performance environment. The role requires extensive experience in PHP and SQL databases, with a focus on optimizing code and ensuring quality through rigorous testing. The developer will collaborate with other team members and integrate third-party APIs into the company's systems.

Responsibilities

• Participate in team planning meetings for new features/functionality and daily/weekly scrum meetings.
• Work independently on tasks and test your own code.
• Conduct code reviews of other programmers' work and suggest improvements when needed.
• Write comments in your code as a rule, not an exception.
• Work with 3rd party APIs to integrate into our system and assist other companies in integrating with our Restful API.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or extensive experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 5 years of experience with PHP and SQL.
• A solid understanding of SQL databases including concurrency issues, optimizing queries for speed, and indexes.
• OOP programming experience, comfortable with classes and building modular, reusable code.
• Experience with PHP 8+, GIT, and Github flow.
• MySQL/MariaDB experience.
• Experience with Linux.
• Proficiency in Javascript, jQuery, CSS, and HTML.

Nice-to-haves

• Docker, Docker Swarm and/or Kubernetes experience.
• Experience with CI/CD systems.
• Familiarity with REST APIs.
• Redis experience.
• Experience with Memsql, Clickhouse, or Single Store.
• LiteSpeed / Nginx / Apache configuration.
• Experience with Propel/Redbean ORM.
