About the position

We are seeking an on-site PHP Web Developer to help develop our eCommerce Websites. The applicant will design, develop, and maintain various websites, and will also be responsible for code reviewing and merging outsourced programming. The role requires experience in a Full LAMP environment and comfort with Linux, as well as a self-motivated and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Work on new features/functionality and work independently on tasks, test your own code
• Code review other programmers work, suggest improvements when needed and merge outsourced programming
• Write comments in your code as a rule, not an exception
• Work with 3rd party APIs to integrate into our system
• Work with team to integrate back-end components such as APIs, Dynamics CRM, and databases
• Work to integrate other major external systems including ERP, OMS, payment gateway system, middleware, and other systems as needed
• Maintaining our websites, web services and internal scripts/programs
• Debug errors, troubleshoot issues, maintain dependencies, and apply security updates
• Neat, efficient, and well-documented coding practices a must

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with PHP + SQL
• Proficient with both PHP 7+ and MySQL/MariaDB and be able to write queries
• A solid understanding of SQL databases including: Optimizing queries for speed, indexes, etc.
• OOP programming - comfortable with classes, building code that can be modular and reusable
• Good understanding of MVC frameworks (Laravel a plus)
• Good understanding of Javascript, jQuery, CSS, HTML
• Good understanding of Linux and Version Control (GIT)
• Good understanding of Restful Web Services
• Must be able to integrate code that is outsourced
• Good communication skills (both written and oral)

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Computer Science (Preferred but not required)
