About the position

The Lighting Designer for the high school musical is responsible for both the artistic and technical elements of the production's lighting and special effects. This role involves collaborating with the director and creative team to develop a comprehensive lighting plan that enhances the overall production, ensuring that the lighting effectively conveys mood and guides the audience's attention.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the director and creative team to create a lighting plan that contributes to the overall look and feel of the production.
• Create a light plot that shows the placement and configuration of all lighting equipment.
• Attend rehearsals to ensure the lighting plan works as intended and discuss the lighting process with technicians.
• Provide all necessary paperwork for the lighting design, such as hook-ups, schedules, and cut lists.
• Review the production budget to ensure the lighting meets the funding requirements.
• Be aware of health and safety aspects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
