About the position

The position is for an experienced engineer to join Apple's Systems Engineering team, focusing on mobility control features for 5G-NR and LTE technologies. The role involves working on innovative hardware technology and contributing to the development of groundbreaking products and services.

Responsibilities

• Work on mobility control features for 5G-NR and LTE standards.
• Conduct system-level simulations and workflow automation using programming languages such as Matlab, C/C++, Javascript, and Python.
• Analyze and visualize data related to wireless communication systems.
• Collaborate with team members to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Make design trade-offs considering power, performance, and complexity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 3+ years of industry experience.
• Good understanding of 5G-NR or LTE standards, particularly RRC and PHY.
• In-depth knowledge of Wireless Communication Systems.
• Strong theoretical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in modem chipset design and bring up.
• Familiarity with NR/LTE reference signal design, cell search/measurement, and mobility behavior.
• Understanding of key RRC signaling flows between UE and network.
• Ability to assess performance impact under external restrictions such as coexistence issues.
