About the position

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead and manage multiple projects across various business units. This role requires an extensive knowledge and understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing both standard and complex projects simultaneously, demonstrating superior planning and facilitation skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to identify critical path milestones and project risks, and will possess the expertise and decisiveness needed to resolve business problems and make informed decisions. In this position, the Project Manager will lead a team of project members, motivating them to commit to their responsibilities and project milestones to achieve project goals. The role demands strong business and operational acumen to ensure that solutions align with client goals while adhering to industry best practices. The Project Manager will also be responsible for collecting and disseminating data, utilizing performance data to create and execute improvements, and conducting formal analyses to make recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the Project Manager will execute process improvement plans to establish best practices, standard templates, program policies, and optimized tools, thereby enhancing the organization's program management capabilities. Training and mentoring of the Program Team, including program coordinators and managers, will also be a key responsibility. The Project Manager will act as the subject matter expert within the department, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues as needed. Regular reporting on project status updates, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues will be required, along with providing backup support to the manager for Workfront. Other responsibilities may be assigned as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Manages multiple projects, both standard and complex, simultaneously.
  • Identifies critical path milestones and project risks, resolving business problems and making decisions.
  • Leads project team members across one or more business units, motivating them to commit to responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Demonstrates business and operational acumen to support client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.
  • Leads the collection and dissemination of data, utilizing performance data to create and execute improvements.
  • Conducts formal analysis of data and makes recommendations based on findings to internal and external constituents.
  • Executes process improvement plans to establish best practices, standard templates, program policies, and optimized tools.
  • Trains and mentors Program Team, including program coordinators and program managers.
  • Acts as the department subject matter expert, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues as needed.
  • Coordinates reporting status updates regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership.
  • Provides backup support to manager for Workfront.
  • Performs other responsibilities and functions as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.
  • 3+ years of previous experience with gathering requirements from the client/business and documentation.
  • 3+ years of experience with full product lifecycle with understanding of development lifecycle and various methodologies that support that lifecycle.
  • 5+ years working as Project Management Professional (PMP Certified).
  • Strong experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, SDLC/Waterfall.
  • Advanced level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs, on-schedule, with quality and within budget.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience negotiating Statement of Work scope, work effort, and deliverables.
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
