About the position

The Physician (Physiatrist) will oversee the Integrated Therapies Department at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System, focusing on Whole Health, Pain Management, Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. This role involves setting strategic goals in alignment with the Veterans Administration's objectives, ensuring quality patient care, and managing clinical and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Integrated Therapies Department, including Whole Health, Pain Management, PT, KT, OT, and PM&R.
  • Set overall goals for the Service Line in compliance with VA and VHA strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and clinical leaders to formulate local Medical Center Policy.
  • Monitor outcomes and work with Medical Center Management to meet program goals.
  • Develop strategic plans, policies, and procedures for the service line's mission.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary service activities with other services and clinics.
  • Support staff development and encourage continual learning among service personnel.
  • Provide clinical oversight and administrative management of the Medical Center Management Team.
  • Perform clinical duties and direct patient care activities at least 25% of the time.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. State or territory.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program leading to board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
