About the position

The Physician (Physiatrist) position at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System involves overseeing the Integrated Therapies Department, which includes Whole Health, Pain Management, Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). The role requires setting strategic goals in alignment with the Veterans Administration's objectives and ensuring quality patient care through effective management and collaboration with other services. This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary range of $200,000 to $400,000, depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Integrated Therapies Department, ensuring compliance with VA and VHA strategic goals.
  • Set overall goals for the service line and monitor outcomes to meet program objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and clinical leaders to formulate local Medical Center policy.
  • Develop strategic plans, policies, and procedures for the service line's mission.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary service activities with other services and clinics.
  • Support staff development and prepare future leaders within the service.
  • Provide clinical oversight and administrative management of the Medical Center Management Team.
  • Perform clinical duties and direct patient care activities at least 25% of the time.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. state or territory.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program leading to board certification eligibility.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
