About the position
Top Docs, Inc is seeking a contract Neurologist or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to perform Compensation & Pension Exams (C&P) for military Veterans at various sites across the USA. This role supports the Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations program, ensuring timely and accurate assessments of Veterans' health for disability claims. The position offers a flexible schedule with a hybrid work model, focusing on providing comprehensive evaluations without treatment planning or medication prescriptions.
Responsibilities
- Perform Compensation & Pension Exams (C&P) for military Veterans.
- Review Veterans' medical or mental health history prior to exams.
- Capture responses during exams using a web-based examination form.
- Complete electronic exam documentation known as a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ).
- Submit completed documentation to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs within 48 hours of each appointment.
- Conduct TBI exams and other diagnostic testing as clinically indicated.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and customer specifications.
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Neurology.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) in specialty.
- Active medical license to work independently.
- Good interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with compensation exams or VA experience (preferred but not required).
- Willingness to undergo module training.
