About the position

The Physical Security Designer role at WJHW, Inc. involves creating secure environments through innovative design solutions. The position requires collaboration with clients and cross-disciplinary teams to ensure that security measures are effectively integrated into various projects, from sports venues to educational facilities. The designer will engage in hands-on design work, prepare reports, and conduct field reviews to ensure that security standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with clients to understand their unique needs and challenges, delivering insightful solutions.
• Prepare detailed reports and deliver presentations that communicate clear recommendations and cost-effective strategies.
• Participate in every stage of design, from initial schematics to design development and final construction documents.
• Design essential security elements, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, emergency intercom systems, and vehicle barrier controls.
• Conduct on-site reviews and provide field observation reports to ensure security standards are met and designs are fully realized.
• Share knowledge of physical security deployment strategies and collaborate closely with other project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree plus three years in construction/security, or a minimum of five years of experience in the industry.
• Proven experience in physical security design and a strong grasp of the architecture and construction process.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project; experience with security-related software is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with AutoCAD/ACAD LT and Revit is advantageous but not required.
