About the position

The Physical Security Specialist at the Department of Defense (DCMA) is responsible for overseeing security-related purchases and services, acting as the Contracting Officer's Representative. This role involves providing guidance on facility guard force management, coordinating with federal law enforcement and security organizations, and developing comprehensive security plans and programs. The specialist will also conduct assessments to ensure compliance with security policies and provide operational support to DCMA field organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the Contracting Officer's Representative for security-related purchases and services.
  • Provides advice in the management of a facility guard force.
  • Liaison with host installation and other federal government law enforcement, intelligence, and security organizations to coordinate and facilitate an appropriate security posture for DCMA activities.
  • Writes comprehensive Anti-terrorism (AT)/Physical Security-related reports, statements of work, and AT/Physical Security plans and procedures.
  • Develops AT/Physical Security programs for assigned organizations and conducts assessments to ensure compliance with applicable policies.
  • Makes recommendations on the fielding of AT and Physical Security countermeasures.
  • Serves as the primary AT/Physical Security Officer to Regional and Contract management (CMO) Commanders/Directors.
  • Provides operational Anti-terrorism (AT) and Physical Security (PHYSEC) support to DCMA field organizations.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • One year of specialized experience directly related to the position.
  • Experience at the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level or equivalent in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
  • Planning for future or new physical security requirements.
  • Utilizing physical security/anti-terrorism concepts and theories to provide adequate guidance to field activities.
