About the position

Inova Health System is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join their Fairfax Family Practice team in Fairfax, Virginia. This role focuses on providing therapeutic healing in a community-driven primary care setting, collaborating closely with physicians to develop and implement patient care and treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience, particularly in areas such as Concussion, Vestibular, and Sports injuries, and will be responsible for selecting appropriate evaluations and treatment methods based on patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Select evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for the patient's diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status.
• Formulate appropriate treatment plans based on evaluations.
• Demonstrate essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
• Perform re-evaluations according to department guidelines and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Document the results of evaluations clearly and completely according to department policy.
• Complete daily progress notes reflecting patients' responses to treatment and assessments relevant to the treatment plan.
• Complete discharge notes summarizing the course of treatment, progress toward goals, and recommendations for follow-up.
• Document evidence of patient and family/caregiver education.
• Contact families, physicians, or other healthcare team members to facilitate effective treatment plans.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Physical Therapy
• Active Virginia Physical Therapy license, or licensed by start date
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• New graduate Physical Therapist eligible
