About the position

The Physical Therapist in the Adult Rehab Department is responsible for performing therapeutic physical therapy treatments under the direction of a physician. This role involves evaluating patients, formulating treatment plans, documenting progress, and potentially supervising students during clinical rotations. The therapist plays a crucial role in patient care and discharge planning, ensuring that patients receive appropriate guidance and support for their recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets physician orders and evaluates patients to formulate treatment plans.
  • Modifies treatment plans based on patient responses and current needs.
  • Involved in discharge planning and instructs patients in home programs.
  • Documents treatment results and patient responses in medical records.
  • Supervises and assists students during their clinical rotations, depending on experience.
  • Maintains and cleans equipment used by the department.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current license from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Physical Therapist or eligibility to sit for the exam (must obtain within six months of hire).
  • Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • Knowledge of physical therapy principles, methods, practices, techniques, equipment, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology sufficient to evaluate and treat patients.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and excellent communication skills.
