About the position

The Physical Therapist position at JAG Physical Therapy involves providing compassionate and effective physical therapy care to post-operative patients in an ambulatory surgical center. The role focuses on evaluating patients, guiding them through functional mobility tasks, and preparing them for safe discharge. Responsibilities

  • Perform physical therapy evaluations for post-operative patients.
  • Guide patients through functional mobility tasks to ensure safe discharge.
  • Collaborate with surgical center medical staff regarding patient care and post-operative precautions.
  • Educate patients on safe bed mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
  • Collect and record patient care data in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Complete daily billing and maintain productivity standards.
  • Prepare for evaluations by obtaining patient history and understanding diagnoses.
  • Establish treatment plans based on evaluations and best practices.
  • Assess and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide education and training to patients and their support systems.
  • Attend annual billing and coding seminars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy required; Doctorate preferred.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of practice (NY, NJ).
  • Completed state-regulated CEU requirements.
  • Valid CPR License.
  • Experience with EMR software preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success.
  • Basic computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with EMR software.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement systems and their impact on patient care.
