About the position

The Physical Therapist position at JAG Physical Therapy involves providing compassionate care to post-operative patients in an ambulatory surgical center. The role focuses on performing evaluations, guiding patients through functional mobility tasks, and preparing them for safe discharge. This opportunity allows therapists to apply and expand their skills in a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with surgical center medical staff regarding patient's post-operative status and precautions.
  • Educate patients on safe bed mobility, transfers, and ambulation considering post-operative precautions.
  • Transfer, ambulate, and perform stair negotiation with patients to ensure safety for discharge.
  • Collect and record patient care data following regulatory guidelines and reimbursement systems.
  • Complete daily billing and adhere to department productivity guidelines.
  • Prepare for evaluations by obtaining patient history and understanding diagnoses.
  • Select and administer tests and measures, synthesizing results to formulate diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Establish treatment plans based on evaluations, goals, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and patient support systems.
  • Assess and modify plans of care and goals as needed.
  • Provide education and training to patients and their support systems.
  • Responsible for treatment plans and exercise prescriptions for patient caseload.
  • Provide safe and effective interventions in compliance with JAG standards.
  • Document treatments using Prompt and attend annual billing and coding seminars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy required; Doctorate preferred.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of practice (NY, NJ).
  • Completed state-regulated CEU requirements.
  • Valid CPR License.
  • Experience with EMR software preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
