About the position

The Physical Therapist Assistant Adjunct Faculty position involves teaching courses as assigned at the Cranford, Elizabeth, and Plainfield campuses. Faculty members are expected to teach face-to-face classes during the Fall, Spring, and other sessions, and must be willing to obtain certification to teach online. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering course content, maintaining accurate records, and participating in the assessment of learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses in accordance with the description published in the catalog and the approved course syllabus.
• Incorporates interactive approaches, technologies, and methods into courses when possible.
• Incorporates an appreciation of diverse lifestyles, cultures, and national perspectives into courses.
• Utilizes library resources, writing as an instructional method, and academic technologies in courses.
• Meets all scheduled class meetings and advises the Department Chairperson/Program Director of absences in a timely manner.
• Maintains accurate grade and attendance records for students and submits required reports.
• Submits grades per published deadline.
• Participates in assessment of learning outcomes and uses results in course planning.
• Plans in advance to ensure availability of supplies, textbooks, and classroom equipment.
• Submits progress reports on students and discusses any problems requiring special attention with appropriate personnel.
• Adheres to College policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or higher is required.
• Current N.J. Physical Therapy license.
• Some teaching experience is required.
• Official college transcripts must be submitted prior to interview.

Nice-to-haves

• Teaching experience at the community college level preferred.
