About the position
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) role at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Northwest Arkansas involves working under the guidance of a supervising Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive rehabilitation care to patients. The PTA will implement treatment programs, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal recovery outcomes for diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Acquire pertinent information and implement comprehensive treatment programs using varied techniques and activities.
- Review and modify treatment plans in response to changing patient needs.
- Identify equipment and discharge needs for patients.
- Assist patients in preparation for treatment or modalities as necessary.
- Provide treatment to diverse diagnostic populations and complete supporting documentation according to hospital policy and State Practice Act.
- Communicate and collaborate with support personnel regarding treatment orders as directed by the supervising PT.
- Apply physical agents, therapeutic exercises, or gait-training activities as outlined by the licensed PT in the patient Plan of Care (POC).
- Progress patients appropriately when deemed necessary by the PT.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Previous experience in the care of patients preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
