About the position
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Stratford Manor plays a crucial role in providing therapeutic support to residents, working under the guidance of a Physical Therapist. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about improving the quality of life for seniors through rehabilitation and therapeutic exercises. The PTA will be responsible for measuring and recording residents' motor functions, assisting with exercises, and ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Therapy Team under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.
- Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
- Observe residents and write progress reports.
- Assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
- Treat residents using various techniques, including stretching and massage.
- Help residents use necessary equipment and devices.
- Educate residents on proper exercise techniques to strengthen muscles and improve mobility.
- Maintain residents' confidence by keeping information confidential.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
- Contribute to the entire team effort and goals.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited PTA Program.
- Current State PTA License.
- Experience in long-term-care settings preferred.
