About the position

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at SpineZone is responsible for implementing the care plans designed by Physical Therapists, focusing on delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients. This role emphasizes day-to-day patient care, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, and maintaining productivity benchmarks. The PTA will work closely with a supportive team, participate in research studies, and receive training in various health disciplines, all while contributing to the mission of treating the whole patient and alleviating musculoskeletal pain.

Responsibilities

  • Take patients through therapeutic workouts as designed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain standardized clinical protocols and processes around the SpineZone program.
  • Perform MedX or DAVID equipment testing effectively and communicate instructions to patients.
  • Address clinical-related concerns directly and timely to the Physical Therapist and Care Manager.
  • Complete encounter note information for each patient visit utilizing the EHR Portal System.
  • Ensure Portal dashboards are maintained adequately with timely follow-up.
  • Assist Maintenance Program patients as needed.
  • Perform posture analysis at assigned intervals.
  • Update Primary Care Physician at assigned intervals.
  • Maintain productivity at a minimum of 85%.
  • Strive to achieve all Clinical KPI benchmarks.
  • Lead clinical conversations after returning from additional CEU competency.
  • Participate in bi-weekly webinars and live meetings.
  • Maintain a clean workout area and overall clinic cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensure all billing is completed daily in Athena.
  • Provide outstanding customer service skills and engage well with patients.
  • Serve as backup for a Patient Service Representative upon clinic demands.
  • Schedule/reschedule appointments; retrieve messages and ensure proper messages are relayed.
  • Collect copays and other fees required prior to the office visit or treatment.
  • Follow all HIPAA regulations and compliance.
  • Ensure state regulatory requirements are met with PT supervision.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant license from the state of California.
  • Associates of Physical Therapy.
  • Experience in athletic training, EMT, physical therapy aide, and/or personal training preferred.
  • Valid CPR Certificate.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to remain organized and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to remain calm and collected during stressful situations.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
  • Outstanding customer service.

Nice-to-haves
