About the position

The Pediatric Physical Therapist I position at UNC Hospitals Rehabilitation Services involves providing high-quality care to pediatric patients aged birth to 21 years. The role emphasizes personalized, one-on-one therapy sessions and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to address various developmental, orthopedic, and neurological conditions. The therapist will engage in mentorship, professional development, and community outreach, contributing to the overall growth and quality of care provided to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Administers basic & complex diagnostic tests and evaluations in Physical Therapy for mobility disorders.
  • Teaches and supervises graduate Physical Therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents, contributing to innovative programs to enhance patient care.
  • Analyzes results of diagnostic and therapeutic testing to establish patient goals and modify treatment programs, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Selects and applies current and advanced techniques to provide quality rehabilitative services, organizing care according to patient needs.
  • Serves as a resource to North Carolina government departments and health professionals, participating in community health events and developing new clinical programs.
  • Contributes to the quality of clinical services through attendance at departmental meetings and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains valid and reliable records of patient procedures and progress, contributing to continuous quality improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
