About the position

The Physical Therapist position at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Northwest Arkansas involves providing specialized care to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The role focuses on assessing patient needs, implementing appropriate physical therapy interventions, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal recovery outcomes for adult and geriatric patients. The therapist will also be responsible for supervising Physical Therapist Assistants and Therapy techs, as well as formulating and updating individualized care plans.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of patients treated by Physical Therapist Assistants and Therapy techs.
  • Assesses patients' needs and initiates appropriate physical therapy interventions.
  • Works cooperatively with other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional physical therapy practice.
  • Observes and evaluates treatment effects and the accomplishment of short and long-term goals.
  • Recommends changes to the physician if needed based on patient evaluations.
  • Performs assessments and reassessments on each patient as per policy.
  • Conducts accurate and timely quality improvement scoring.
  • Assesses patient pain and makes appropriate interventions to reduce pain.
  • Formulates and updates patient-specific plans of care for physical therapy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Arkansas.
  • Inpatient rehab experience preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR Card.
