About the position

The Physical Therapist position at Ochsner Health is responsible for delivering physical therapy treatment autonomously, either through referral or direct to consumer. The role involves evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, assessing patient progress, and ensuring quality care metrics are met. The therapist will also assist in program development to meet community needs, making a significant impact on patient care and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and provide treatment programs to facilitate patient-specific goals.
• Assess the patient's response to treatment and recommend treatment plan changes as appropriate.
• Maintain patient records according to documentation standards, policies, and procedures.
• Attain established productivity levels set forth by administration, including access to care, patient experience, and quality.
• Assist in program development and enhancement to meet patient and community needs.
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and communication styles.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.
• Current physical therapy license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain flexible with fluctuating schedules based on patient demand.
