About the position
The position involves providing therapy to patients based on their needs and medical direction, with a focus on reducing pain, improving function, and facilitating a return to previous activity levels. The therapist will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, educate patients and caregivers, and document progress in compliance with standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform evaluation procedures to assess the level of disability and make appropriate recommendations.
- Provide treatment programs and education to restore maximal function to patients.
- Assess the effectiveness of treatment and modify goals and methods as needed.
- Document evaluation and treatment of each patient in compliance with standards.
- Instruct and train other rehabilitation staff, nursing, and medical personnel regarding patient needs.
- Participate in ongoing process improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives.
- Demonstrate productivity as indicated by department standards.
- Improve skill areas through continuing education and developing new patient care concepts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited physical therapy program required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- 6 months of relevant experience preferred.
- LIC-Physical Therapist - STATE_MI required upon hire.
- LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI required upon hire.
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
