About the position

The Physical Therapist II at Cottage Health is responsible for interpreting, organizing, applying, and modifying prevention and wellness strategies as well as medically prescribed physical therapy for both inpatients and outpatients. This role involves planning and implementing individualized programs to meet patient needs while adhering to the standards set by the American Physical Therapy Association and the California Board of Physical Therapy. The position requires a high level of competency in providing care in a safe environment, with a focus on effective communication and sensitivity to diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply prevention and wellness strategies and medically prescribed physical therapy.
• Plan and implement individualized therapy programs for patients.
• Provide patient care consistent with the Scope of Practice Standards and Code of Ethics.
• Utilize technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills in patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of Physical Therapy (Master's or Bachelor's Degree with equivalent experience).
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of California or an applicant for state licensure.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
• Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and modalities.
• Basic computer skills for chart review and documentation.
