About the position

The Physical Therapist PRN at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for evaluating, planning, and administering treatment techniques as prescribed by physicians. This role emphasizes whole-person care, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive treatment that addresses their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The therapist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and maintain professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, and administers appropriate treatment techniques as prescribed by a physician.
• Administers patient treatments in a professional manner and within hospital standards.
• Completes timely and thorough documentation of patient care.
• Works directly with a multidisciplinary team including physicians and various therapists.
• Maintains a professional team relationship with co-workers and supports their growth.
• Communicates honestly and addresses issues privately.
• Consults with physicians regarding diagnostic results as appropriate.
• Delegates and supervises patient care duties performed by assistants and technicians.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to hospital policies.
• Educates patients and families in self-care and prevention techniques.
• Completes evaluation, progress, and discharge notes in a timely manner.
• Participates in department meetings and inservices, contributing constructively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
• Kansas Physical Therapist License.
• BCLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
• 2 to 5 years of position-related experience.
