Responsibilities

  • Interprets physician referrals and completes evaluations in musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary areas.
  • Establishes and implements individual treatment plans based on evaluation results.
  • Monitors and evaluates treatment outcomes, adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Identifies and addresses factors affecting patient's physical and psychosocial comfort.
  • Plans and completes patient discharge, including home programs and referrals.
  • Communicates and collaborates with stakeholders for optimal patient care.
  • Completes required documentation following department policy and accreditation standards.
  • Records patient care and progress, completing daily statistics and billing.
  • Maintains site/department productivity standards and adheres to billing policies.
  • Cleans up after patient treatment and keeps the area orderly.
  • Demonstrates skill in the use of modalities and exercise equipment.
  • Participates in safety initiatives and follows infection control measures.
  • Engages in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care outcomes.
  • Manages assigned caseload and informs leadership of coverage needs.
  • Pursues professional growth through continuing education and departmental in-services.
  • Orients new staff to clinical and department policies.
  • May supervise physical therapy assistants and students.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
  • Physical Therapy License in the State of Illinois or Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 90 days.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide age-appropriate care and assess patient needs.
