About the position

The Physical Therapist (PT) at Life Care Center of Athens provides direct rehabilitation care to patients referred by physicians, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and Life Care standards. This full-time position offers a supportive environment with a focus on professional growth, including a 12-week mentorship program for new graduates and opportunities for continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct rehab care in physical therapy to patients upon physician referral.
• Follow physical therapy treatment plans for patients.
• Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals for patients.
• Oversee and evaluate care given by PTAs, Rehab Aides, and PT and PTA students.
• Chart patient progress appropriately and timely.
• Utilize therapy software accurately and appropriately.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients when necessary.
• Demonstrate dependable and regular attendance.
• Communicate and function productively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy (BSPT, MSPT, or DPT).
• Currently registered/licensed in the applicable state with an active license in good standing throughout employment.
• One year of experience in post-acute care or a related setting preferred.
• CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation, with maintenance of current certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures in post-acute care facilities.
