About the position
The Physical Therapist in Rehab Services at LifePoint Health is responsible for assessing patients' conditions, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing physical therapy interventions. This role involves direct patient care, supervision of support staff, and the evaluation of therapeutic devices to enhance patient recovery and functionality.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
- Establish a plan of care appropriate to identified problems and involve the patient according to their capabilities and desires.
- Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
- Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
- Direct and supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel, assessing competence and delegating specific tasks.
- Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.
- Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- North Carolina Physical Therapist license
- Recommended affiliation with the American Physical Therapist Association (APTA)
