About the position

This is a unique opportunity for a motivated Physical Therapist to join an integrated medical practice located in Shawnee, KS, just 10 miles west of Kansas City. The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and is dedicated to providing high-quality rehabilitation services to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate healer, passionate about patient care and committed to helping individuals regain their independence and mobility. The Physical Therapist will work closely with a diverse patient population, addressing a wide range of acute and chronic injuries, and will be expected to continuously learn and apply new techniques to enhance patient outcomes. In this role, the Physical Therapist will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs. This includes conducting initial and ongoing evaluations in accordance with APTA standards and state regulations, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and providing education to patients and their caregivers. The Physical Therapist will also document treatment progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure effective recovery. The position offers a flexible schedule with the option for full-time or part-time work, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. The practice emphasizes teamwork and collaboration, and the Physical Therapist will partner with Nurse Practitioners and Chiropractors to deliver comprehensive care. The role is designed for those who are not only skilled in physical therapy but also dedicated to creating a positive patient experience and contributing to the growth of the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations according to APTA standards of practice as well as state standards
  • Consult with referring Physicians and Healthcare team regarding diagnosis as needed
  • Evaluate mobility, strength and current level of patient function, while setting goals to improve in these areas that are scaled to patient abilities and realistically attainable
  • Develop and implement physical therapy treatment programs based on each patient's particular needs, including short- and long-term goals, collaboration demands of other staff members, and required patient and caregiver involvement
  • Implement Plan of Treatment on a consistent schedule and adjust this schedule and plan according to patient progress
  • Assist patients with all phases of physical therapy treatment and techniques to include exercise instruction, modern modalities, and activities of daily living
  • Provide patient education on the benefits of PT, treatment plan maintenance, and home exercises
  • Document accurate and timely records, document treatments rendered in patient charts, and record patient conditions and responses to treatments in charts after each visit
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff for comprehensive patient care
  • Communicate effectively with both the staff and patients
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of the practice
  • Create an excellent experience for patients through a friendly and focused attitude
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications
  • Assist other facility staff members as needed to provide care and create a clean, orderly and effective environment for rehabilitation and physical therapy.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an Accredited Physical Therapy Program
  • Current Physical Therapy license for Kansas
