About the position

The Physical Therapist position at HCRC Staffing in Shawnee, KS, is an opportunity for a motivated and compassionate healthcare professional to join an integrated medical practice. The role involves providing therapy and rehabilitation services to patients, focusing on their recovery of independence and mobility. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a Nurse Practitioner and Chiropractor to ensure comprehensive patient care, while also being committed to ongoing learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations according to APTA standards of practice and state standards.
  • Consult with referring Physicians and the healthcare team regarding diagnosis as needed.
  • Evaluate mobility, strength, and current level of patient function, while setting goals to improve in these areas that are scaled to patient abilities and realistically attainable.
  • Develop and implement physical therapy treatment programs based on each patient's particular needs, including short- and long-term goals, collaboration demands of other staff members, and required patient and caregiver involvement.
  • Implement Plan of Treatment on a consistent schedule and adjust this schedule and plan according to patient progress.
  • Assist patients with all phases of physical therapy treatment and techniques, including exercise instruction, modern modalities, and activities of daily living.
  • Educate patients on the benefits of PT, treatment plan maintenance, and home exercises.
  • Document accurate and timely records, including treatments rendered in patient charts and patient conditions and responses to treatments after each visit.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff for comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with both staff and patients.
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of the practice.
  • Create an excellent experience for patients through a friendly and focused attitude.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Assist other facility staff members as needed to provide care and create a clean, orderly, and effective environment for rehabilitation and physical therapy.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an Accredited Physical Therapy Program
  • Current Physical Therapy license for Kansas
