About the position

The Physical Therapist at JAG Physical Therapy is responsible for assessing patients' strengths and weaknesses and creating effective treatment plans to aid in their recovery and functional independence. This role requires a high-energy, positive environment where patient confidentiality is maintained, and therapists provide encouragement to help patients achieve their goals. The position involves daily implementation of treatment plans and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and record patient care data following guidelines and regulations.
  • Prepare for evaluations by obtaining patient history and understanding diagnoses.
  • Select and administer tests and measures to evaluate patients.
  • Establish treatment plans based on evaluation results and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and assess the need for modifications to the plan of care.
  • Provide education and training to patients and their support systems.
  • Administer safe and effective interventions in compliance with JAG standards.
  • Oversee support staff including PTA, ATC, and PT aides.
  • Promote JAG in the community through lectures and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree required, Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of practice.
  • Completed state regulated CEU requirement in appropriate state (NY, NJ).
  • Valid CPR License.
  • Experience/knowledge with EMR software preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with EMR software.
  • Previous experience in a physical therapy setting.
