About the position
The Physical Therapist at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center is responsible for providing direct physical therapy care within the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) location. This role involves assessing and treating patients referred by healthcare providers or through self-referrals, focusing on musculoskeletal complaints. The position requires independent clinical decision-making and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and establish treatment plans to restore homeostasis and enhance adaptive capacities.
- Provide direct access to patient care for musculoskeletal evaluations, triage, and treatment as indicated.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and make clinical decisions for patient care.
- Develop home programs and involve significant others in the treatment process.
- Serve as a consultant in outpatient physical therapy within the department and community.
- Share knowledge with medical, nursing, and support staff within the PACT team.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy with five years of experience, or a Master's degree with two years of experience, or a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
- Graduates must be from a CAPTE accredited program.
