About the position

The Physical Therapist (PT) position at the Btle Creek VA Medical Center primarily involves providing direct patient care at the Muskegon VA Clinic. The role includes evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to enhance mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall quality of life. The PT will work with a diverse patient population, including young adults and geriatric patients, and may rotate between outpatient, inpatient acute care, and the Community Living Center. The position requires collaboration with other healthcare professionals and may involve occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care through evaluations, treatment, and documentation.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations.
  • Implement treatment techniques to promote mobility and restore function.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans and rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Conduct timely re-evaluations and modify treatment goals as necessary.
  • Select appropriate ICD-10 and CPT billing codes for services rendered.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and program improvement initiatives.
  • Provide clinical oversight for Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs).
  • Present educational in-services and case studies to staff.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy with five years of experience, or a Master's degree with two years of experience, or a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in the U.S.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
