About the position

The Physical Therapist at Jackson Purchase Medical Center is responsible for evaluating and conducting medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. This role involves providing educational information to patients regarding injury prevention and rehabilitation, as well as supervising physical therapy assistants and aides in treatment delivery. The position aims to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning in patients while alleviating pain and preventing dysfunction.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establish a plan of care appropriate to identified problems and patient capabilities.
• Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment.
• Perform therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques.
• Direct and supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel.
• Administer treatment involving application of physical agents and equipment.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.
• Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Kentucky Board of Physical Therapy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
