Responsibilities

• Perform physical therapy evaluations and formulate objective treatment plans.
• Provide treatments for patients (inmates) referred by other medical staff.
• Plan, implement, and administer treatments utilizing various accepted techniques including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, functional training, and electrotherapeutic modalities.
• Document all aspects of patient management utilizing the electronic health record according to established policy and licensure requirements.
• Make recommendations on matters of policy, procedures, training, personnel, and equipment.
• Maintain security of the institution as part of correctional responsibilities.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist.
• Completion of a physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP).
• Two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of current, evidence-based theories, principles, practices, and procedures in physical therapy.
