About the position

The Rehabilitation Aide position at Athletico in Marengo, IL, is designed to empower individuals by providing exceptional rehabilitative services. The role is integral to the patient experience, as the aide will assist the Patient Experience Coordinator and clinicians in both administrative and clinical duties. This includes greeting patients upon arrival, preparing them for physical therapy treatments, and assisting physical therapists and physical therapist assistants during treatment sessions. The Rehabilitation Aide will ensure compliance with state practice act requirements while performing their duties, which are essential for maintaining a supportive and effective treatment environment. In this role, the aide will be responsible for motivating and assisting patients as they practice exercises and functional activities under the guidance of professional staff. They will also provide routine treatments, such as applying hot/cold packs and utilizing modalities like Ultrasounds and Electrical stimulation. Maintaining cleanliness in the work area and equipment post-treatment is crucial, as is the upkeep of linens and restocking supplies in the clinic. Additionally, the aide will support the Patient Experience Coordinator with administrative tasks, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing inventory of both medical and non-medical supplies. Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for physical therapy treatments by assisting with supportive devices.
  • Safeguards, motivates, and assists patients during exercises and functional activities under professional staff direction.
  • Provides routine treatments, such as hot/cold packs and other modalities like Ultrasounds and Electrical stimulation.
  • Cleans work area and equipment after treatment sessions.
  • Maintains linens and restocks supplies in the clinic.
  • Assists the Patient Experience Coordinator with answering phones and scheduling appointments.
  • Keeps track of non-medical and medical supplies for the clinic and may assist in ordering inventory.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or intern preferred.
  • Previous Clinical Aide or Rehab Tech experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and time management skills are required.
  • Ability to provide care/service that exceeds patient expectations.
  • Energetic team player with compassion toward patients.
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a clinical setting as a Clinical Aide or Rehab Tech.
