About the position
The Physical Therapy Aide at Fairview Range Rehabilitation Services plays a crucial role in supporting the rehabilitation team by assisting with patient care, transportation, and maintaining the rehabilitation environment. This position is integral to providing high-quality care to patients of all ages and ensuring a smooth operation within the department.
Responsibilities
- Assists with age-specific patient care as directed by therapists to patients of all ages, including safe transportation of patients using appropriate body mechanics.
- Maintains and orders supplies for patient care.
- Performs routine cleaning of the Rehabilitation Services department, including setting up for patient arrivals and cleaning areas after treatment.
- Stocks supplies and obtains and delivers equipment to patients.
- Provides excellent customer service by communicating effectively and respectfully with patients, families, visitors, physicians, community, referral sources, and the Rehabilitation Services team.
- Demonstrates strong patient and customer focus and positively represents the Rehabilitation department to other departments and customers.
Requirements
- One year of medical experience
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. (or 3+ years of experience in healthcare involving direct patient care in lieu of a diploma)
- BLS certification
Nice-to-haves
- Recent (within last year) experience in Rehab or as a PT Aide
- CNA certification
