About the position

This individual assists the physical therapists in the preparation of patients for treatment, provides certain physical therapy procedures to the patient, maintains physical therapy equipment in a clean and aesthetic manner and is responsible for written/verbal communications between the Rehab department and our customers. The position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care and effective communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in preparing patients for treatment
• Provide certain physical therapy procedures to patients
• Maintain physical therapy equipment in a clean and aesthetic manner
• Responsible for written/verbal communications between the Rehab department and customers

Requirements

• Completion of a two-year college program leading to Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant
• Compliance with the State of Iowa Physical Therapy Association Rules and Regulations concerning licensure
• One year experience in acute setting preferred
• Ability to communicate with patients and instruct them in exercise programs
• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintain current status
• Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years
