About the position

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at Ranch House Senior Living is responsible for providing treatments, tests, and evaluations of residents under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist. This role emphasizes compliance with facility policies, interdisciplinary collaboration, and maintaining the dignity and confidentiality of residents while ensuring high-quality therapy services.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Facility's personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Administrator or Director of Nursing.
  • Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Collaborate with Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy for planning treatments.
  • Responsible for all Physical Therapy treatments on a day-to-day basis.
  • Evaluate resident performance and communicate findings to nursing and physicians.
  • Document resident's progress and treatments in accordance with therapy plans as directed by the Registered Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain and inventory all durable medical equipment and order supplies for the therapy department.
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations regarding Rehabilitation Therapy.
  • Participate in meetings such as Quality Assurance, Restraint meetings, and Care Planning as required.
  • Responsible for all therapy billing, questionnaires, and progress notes.
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, use of hazardous materials, and fire safety.
  • Ensure compliance with Resident's Rights.

Requirements

  • Current Physical Therapy Assistant License.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
  • Ability to perform essential position functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
